It is headquartered in Paris, France, and its activities are focused on the peaceful use of space, science and technology. ESA works closely with other space-related organizations, such as the European Union, the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Its mission is to provide a secure and sustainable environment for European citizens in space.
