Orbex is a private space launch company based in Scotland, UK. Founded in 2015, Orbex is developing a small-scale launch vehicle, called Prime, to provide launch services for small satellites. It is powered by a unique bio-propane engine, the first of its kind in the world. The company has received funding from the European Space Agency, the UK Space Agency, and a number of private investors. Orbex plans to launch its first mission by 2022 and is currently building a launch site in Northern Scotland.
